Ways Members can help in our Sustainability Efforts
On the Course
Eco-friendly reminders: Signs encouraging golfers to repair divots, rake bunkers, and avoid fragile habitats.
Wildlife zones: Mark and celebrate natural areas with small information boards about plants, insects, or birds.
Sustainable play: Promote walking the course or using electric trolleys instead of buggies.
In the Clubhouse
Green pledge wall: Invite members to sign a pledge committing to simple eco-actions (like reducing plastic use, recycling, or supporting wildlife).
Noticeboard/TV screens: Share sustainability tips, water-saving facts, and updates on achievements (e.g., “we saved 15% water this summer”).
Competitions: Run fun challenges such as “bring a reusable water bottle” days or prizes for eco-conscious behaviour.
Communication and Education
Newsletters & Social Media: Regular updates on projects (tree planting, water conservation, habitat protection).
Workshops or walks: Short talks or nature walks led by staff, greenkeepers, or local experts.
Junior involvement: Include sustainability in junior coaching to build awareness in the next generation.
Engagement in Decisions
Feedback surveys: Ask golfers what eco-initiatives they’d like to see.
Volunteer days: Invite golfers to join in activities such as tree planting, habitat restoration, or litter collection.
